“I love running because it’s so freeing. It’s helped me manage anxiety and depression, which I’ve battled since I was a kid. When I go out for a run, my mind clears and I feel at total peace. I no longer need medication for my depression because running has become such a powerful outlet. It’s like I’m on a whole different level. I tell people all the time how incredible running is and how great it makes you feel—but I also know how important it is to feel safe while doing it. I always share my location with someone before I head out, and I don’t wear headphones so I can stay aware of my surroundings. Feeling free shouldn’t come at the cost of feeling unsafe, and that’s why I’m passionate about creating safer spaces for runners.” - Jennifer
